World Cup Qualifier Singapore vs China 15th November 2011 [Nov. 18th, 2011|11:50 am]
[Tags|, , , , , , , , ]

My first ever coverage of an international sport event, thank you Bhas for giving me this opportunity.
I reached the stadium about 1 hour before the match and the crowd was amazing, cheering and shouting in support of their team . The stadium was painted red, everyone was in red. The supporters from China outnumbered the Singaporean supporters, which was interesting as China was already out of the running to qualify for the World Cup but their supporters still came out full force to support them so did their journalist. They were using the wi-fi to get the photos up on the net instantaneously as the match was going on. When the game started, China's dominance was obvious and overwhelming. Many Singaporean passes were intercepted by China and their defense was strong. They had many chances at goal and in the end the score was 4-0.
Sad day for Singaporean soccer, but I felt they fought well. Kudos Lions!

Had the privilege of being part of my brother's ROM on 11/11/11, great great time of catching up, fun and a lot of talking and not forgetting a lot of single malt scotch whisky. :) Glad, my brother has found someone he treasures a lot and someone who treasures him greatly too. The ceremony was held in Dakota Residences Function Room and the food was prepared by my new sister in law and her mom.. awesome food!

The Big Picture Week 9 Finalist #5 [Nov. 18th, 2011|11:41 am]
Super happy to be selected to be a finalist 3 times in a row.
In this current economic crisis the world is in, the future looks quite uncertain for our children. It may seems dark ahead, yet a child can have such simple faith as to keep running.

TNP The Big Picture Contest Week #8 Speed Finalist [Nov. 18th, 2011|11:40 am]
A panoramic view of this busy city where things change very fast. Besides the daily speed we go through, new building spring up, without us noticing.
Stoked to be selected to be a finalist, did not think I stood a chance amidst the f1 racing car photos depicting speed in the city.

The Big Picture Contest Week #7 Finalist [Nov. 18th, 2011|11:38 am]
Was quite happy when I saw that one of my photos was the finalist for the The Big Picture Contest Week #7, didn't win anything but still quite happy and motivated to work harder.

In a busy city where everyone is rushing from place to place, no one can afford to stand still.
Taken at Raffles City. People have to read the news, eat or check their emails on the go. The only "people" who can stand still are the mannequins. This represents the speed at which each citizen has to adapt to.

Singapore F1, its all about speed [Nov. 18th, 2011|11:37 am]
If you are wondering if I went to the F1 race this weekend..nahz I didn't. Took some shots of the preparations for the F1. This weekend is really all about speed.

Contractors rushing to finish the preparations days ahead of the F1 race.

The F1 caused quite a bit of traffic congestions especially at the Marina Square carpark, many cars were stuck on the side road for close to an hour. When the photo was taken, the jam eased a little.

We Remember [Nov. 18th, 2011|11:36 am]
10 years ago on 11th september I watched in horror as CNN broadcasted the World Trade Centre engulfed in flames. 10 years down the road, security has tightened everywhere but do we remember the images of that day or is it just another day on the calendar? For us, this period is a time of gathering, sharing moon cakes and playing with lanterns. This photo was taken on september 11th while having a Mid Autumn Festival gathering.

Nature is all around [Nov. 18th, 2011|11:35 am]
Captured this on the walkabout in the Singapore Botanical Gardens. Didn't expect to capture such sharp images because I only brought an extension tube for a macro lens. But I was wrong, its not the lens or the camera you bring that matters. Its whether you make the effort to make the photo work. :)

The 1st time I get to vote for President. This elderly's body language as the candidate speaks, reflect my feelings and emotions of this Presidential Election

Confusion - who do I feel fits the bill more?

4 candidates - so little to time to research and read up on them.

So much has been said of all the candidates across different platforms, but whose words can I trust?
Will things ever change? Talk is cheap.
This post comes a little late, better late than never :)
